Nottingham University AMT: MMT - Manufacturing Metrology Team (P)
The MMT is lead by Prof. Richard Leach.
MMT research enables next-generation surface texture and form measurement solutions for growing advanced manufacturing sectors such as additive manufacturing. A wide variety of high-precision production applications can be addressed using the team´s information-rich metrology approach.
Nottingham University CAM - Centre for Aerospace Manufacturing (P)
The centre´s director is Prof. Svetan Ratchev. A number of aerospace research projects are currently active and 3D metrology is commonly required. See, for example, the VADIS project.
NovaScan3D is part of the Metrofort Group and is responsible for its 3D scanning services which cover manufacturing, industrial, cultural heritage and BIM applications.
The National Physical Lab (NPL) is the UK´s National Measurement Institute (NMI).
As part of its wide-ranging metrology activities, NPL undertakes research in dimensional metrology, including large volume metrology (LVM).
Prof. Ben Hughes, the current chairman (Dec. 2019) of the 3D Metrology Conference (3DMC - see separate listing) is a member of the dimensional metrology group.
The UK´s National Physical Lab (NPL) offers classroom and online training courses in dimensional metrology, including portable coordinate metrology (PCM).
The NRC´s Computer Vision and Graphics team conducts applied research in 3?dimensional (3D) imaging, including design of 3D imaging systems, data analytics, machine learning, big data visualization, and data-driven simulation.
NRK is developer of the software package SpatialAnalyzer (SA), a tool for 3D data capture and analysis from a wide range of portable 3D measuring systems for industrial applications.
Nicolas Tanala has close connections with GSI (Geodetic Systems Inc) where he is their European Business Manager and NRK (New River Kinematics).
As well as promoting GSI´s V-STARS photogrammetric system and NRK´s SpatialAnalyzer software, he undertakes specialist service work.
