The Engineering Geodesy Group is part of the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation at the Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien).
Engineering geodesy deals with diverse tasks in construction (e.g. tunnel and rail track alignment) and manufacture (e.g. aircraft part assembly and robot calibration)
Manufacturer of specialist optical measurement systems, in particular offering:
- Projection systems
- Close-range photogrammetric software handling both images and prjected patterns
ULM: ILM - Institut für Lasertechnologien in der Medizin und Meßtechnik (P)
The ILM is part of Ulm University and conducts research in selected areas of photonics / optics . Developed technologies are transferred to industrial and medical practice. One area of interest is in 3D surface scanning.
The company was formed in 2019 by the acquisition of US company Leap Motion by UK company Ultrahaptics.
This brought together two technologies: haptics and hand tracking.
Unblink3D is a subsidiary of Bluewrist, which designs and develops advanced 3D vision and robotic solutions. Unblink3D’s products cover:
- Integrating robotic and 3D vision systems
- Pointcloud viewing and analysis
- Real-time analysis and monitoring of 3D data for predictive defect prevention
Unite2Build are experts in 3D laser scanning and 3D modelling and can offer accurate as-built 3D surveys using 3D laser scanning, total stations, GPS and/or drones.

LIMA is a home for assistance and consulting in the focus area of industrial application of measurement and instrumentation.
LIMA is also associated with the Lab for Human Motion Analysis and NeuroRehabilitation (HumanLab).
HumanLab draws together engineers, scientists, clinicians and medical researchers to create progress in medical diagnosis, intervention and treatment.
